Mediumship is a method of communicating with spirits who have crossed over. Mediums make a special connection and create a conversation with the energy and essence of those who have left their earthly body. The connection comes through many senses-clairvoyance (clear seeing), clairaudience (clear hearing), clairsentience (clear feeling), and other clairs such as claircognizance, clairgustience, clairsalience, and others.

A Medium is a channel to the other side. All mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums. Some mediums prefer to work with one sitter at a time, some like to do what is called platform mediumship, which means they bring through messages in front of large groups. It takes a natural talent and ability to be a good medium. Training helps tremendously with learning to manage your own energetic boundaries, make strong connections, and to understand how to translate the messages. Whether an individual has passed from natural cause, suicide, accidents, murders does not matter.

Mediums can connect with anyone whose energy is open and receptive to merging with their auric field. A professional Medium can feel and share with you your loved one’s personality, character traits, mannerisms, the love they feel for you, their likes and dislikes and the essence of who the person was when they were in human form. Once we leave the body we become energy form. Many people have mediumistic experiences, or what they think of as otherworldly or strange experiences with their loved ones like smelling their grandmother’s perfume, hearing their mother’s voice softly calling their name, or feeling a loving presence of their father around them long after these loved ones have passed. People even see or feel their pets nearby after a loss. Some people think “Am I going crazy?” when they have these unusual events occur. They are not.

Having these experiences does not make someone a Medium, however they are similarly linked to the type of things a medium experiences. Mediums must be in the proper state of mind/body to be able to translate messages from the dead. Mediumship can be immensely healing and can bring closure to many unanswered questions. It is linked to Psychic Detective work but they are not the same and one should not expect a medium to solve crimes that police can’t. However trained Psychic Detectives can do that well and should be contacted for those specific cases.

Think of mediumship as a visit from your deceased relative or friend. What would you talk about? You’d share memories, laughs, intimate details of your lives, the good times. You’d probably give each other advice and encouragement, love and support. That is what a mediumship reading is like.

There are different types of mediumship. Evidential Mediums bring through evidence of the spirit person’s life as proof they are still living on in the spirit world. Your loved one’s energy blends with a medium and you’ll feel their presence. Some evidential mediums may also receive messages through from your spirit guides. Trance mediums can channel your loved ones, spirit guides, angels, or other beings from a trance-like state. Physical mediums can create ectoplasm and manifest objects out of thin air.
